The basic science training elective will support up to 20 students that will be separated into two 10-studnent groups. The class size is limited due to the laboratory resources required for the hands-on technical training, and the small group size will increase interaction opportunities for the students. To this end, medical students should complete the following application, which a review committee will evaluate to determine the final class enrollment. The ideal applicant should describe their need for basic science technical training, and describe why they want to participate in research during their medical school career. If the applicant intends to apply for a Distinction in Research with their medical degree, then they should elaboration on how the course it instrumental to that accomplishment.
